The EAA helped fight back the ethanol issue here in WA State last session. It will come up again in the next session. What we are looking for is making sure the premium gas has no ethanol in it. The regular unleaded can have it for the farmers lobby. But keeping the top free of it for classic cars, aircraft and other machines that can't handle the alcohol seems to be a good compromise. So keep on top of it in your state. Write the reps and tell them. A lot states got the issue out there before
people thought about the ramifications, so the result is that your STC is no longer legal. But if you don't have the ethanol in the gas so far, except for the seasonal EPA pollution in the winter, you might want to keep on top of what the legislators are doing when they come back to work. It seems to be a good way for gas stations to sell more premium fuel and for us to keep flying with a price break and no lead fouling.
