[f-AA] Aileron bay questions

That's pretty close to a "normal" fit. This has been an issue on every one of the dozen or so I've done in the past and all of the brackets have either touched or been very close to the box. Seems the issue is the attachment of the ribs and the inner bracket to the spar. In the drawings there is more space between the top and bottom of the spar and the ribs than the real world allows. Perhaps the production casting and stampings are a little off the drawings. Not much can be changed to fix this as the location of the aileron bearings determines the airfoil of the combined wing/aileron system. About all one can do is to form a slight "bump" in the transition piece.

and buckled, so I made a couple of new ones. They are identical in size
to the original. However there is no clearance between the top of the
aileron bellcrank bracket and the new piece. (See attached pictures) The
only way to have greater clearance would be if the ribs were higher, but
they are all nailed on in the original holes. Is this normal? The old
ones as mentioned were pretty beat up but it looks like they had been
bent up to give greater clearance.
