Gregg,

I was stationed at Spangdahlem, 480th Squadron, it must of been Spring 1981. My wife went to Turkey for 30 days, 
I went to Yeaver and then we went to Spain together two weeks later. Aircraft was 73-1044, 1044 is correct but 73 
may not be the correct year, I'd have to dig up some pictures.

Were you over there?

    WOW, We had an F-4E land in an extreme cross wind while TDY to Yeaver, Germany. Wind caught his drag chute
    as he was slowing down (still very fast), wet runway, next thing we heard was two bangs and my plane sitting 
    backwards in the mud. After an F-16 off runway excursion at Nellis, the pilots are instructed to eject if there going 
    in the green.
