Thanks, Tony, I'll give them a call. I believe my fabric was once painted with enamel, and now has dope over it? Hard to decipher from the logs, but will surely need a lot of fixing to make it another couple years. Kyle

You can also rejuvenate a Polyfiber finish but I am not sure I would want to use Paint stripper. MEK and Lacquer thinner have worked for me. Just OMO as usual. For info from the horse's mouth call Polyfiber Inc at 800 362 3490 and ask for Jon Goldenbaum (the boss and the guy who does all the seminars at OSH etc)

You can rejuvenate a dope finish. But it is something else, you can use
paint stripper by you have to neutralize very carefully anywhere there is a
tape edge.
You might not believe this but if it is as you say coming off, you can
remove it using a putty knife with rounded corners and then build it back
up. Use MEK or paint stripper on the areas that you can't mechanically
remove.
Many Vikings are re-finished with this method. They pull off the tapes to
get an edge to start, replace the tapes, then paint.

When pre-purchase inspecting a 7AC recently, I found that certain
portions of the fabric areas, namely the stabilizer and some of the top
area of the fuselage have some of the paint that had cracked. It is to
the point where in places it has actually lifted and begun to separate
from the fabric. The wings and elevator have been recovered in the not
too distant past. It's the other areas that were not that perhaps had
paint a little too thick and then have experienced a combination of sun
and perhaps some sort of trauma, perhaps hail on the stabilizer, the are
the problem. Suggestions? A couple of people have mentioned a product
they referred to as "Rejuvenate" (sp?).
