only time i have landed on on occupied runway was during an airshow following a C46,we were in the C47 ,caught his wake,and had to thrash about vigorously with all the controls to keep her straight.

If you have an aversion to landing while there is still another airplane on 
the runway, then you should avoid airports with control towers, period.
